The M-LSA-MT-KT Metric Long Scan Autocorrelator Kit is a simple, flexible and cost effective solution for measuring the pulse width of various ultrafast lasers. The standard kit requires purchase of a BBO crystal (Newport part number 90015087) and covers input wavelengths between 700 nm to 2000 nm (The input wavelength range can be extended down to 480 nm with the purchase of a second BBO crystal, Newport part number 90015088.)
The kit includes a Newport 1935-R High-Performance Optical Power Meter and 918D Low-Power Detector to provide data acquisition for the setup. A high resolution automated translation stage with 25 mm of travel corresponds to a total time delay of greater than 160 ps (+/- 80 ps when centered on variable delay arm) with 25 fs resolution. This makes it a valuable tool for investigating sidebands and satellites of laser pulses which may contain significant amounts of the total pulse energy and interfere with complex time-domain signals associated with pump-probe experiments.All of the components included in this kit have been tested in combination with Spectra-Physics Ultrafast Ti:Sapphire oscillators, amplifiers and optical parametric devices by the Scientists in Newport's Technology and Applications Center. In contrast to commercially available autocorrelators, the Newport long scan autocorrelator kit is suitable for beam diameters up to 10 mm. The dynamic range of the detection system allows contrast measurements up to 7000:1. The kit also includes reference software that can be customized for user's application.
